What would the costs of a new windscreen be?

The cost of a new windscreen would average between £250 and £500, including VAT.

We offer a fully mobile service, so we can come to your home, workplace or chosen address.

What size of chip is repairable?

Any damage smaller than a £1 coin we can attempt a repair. See diagram to assist in seeing if the damage may be repairable.

What is the process of a windscreen repair?

The technician will start by cleaning the chipped glass of any dirt and broken glass through a small vacuum pump. They will then seal the chip by injecting resin directly into the damage. This will seal the repair and prevent it from growing, ensuring you pass your MOT.

Will the chip disappear after being repaired?

The purpose of the repair is to protect your windscreen from costly cracks. During the process of injecting resin into the windscreen chip, there may be some minor air bubbles from the areas where the resin did not reach.

How long will a repair take and how soon after can I drive?

A windscreen repair would take on average 30mins. You can drive immediately upon the repair completion.

How long will a replacement take and how soon after can I drive?

A windscreen replacement would take on average 1 hour to complete. You can drive the vehicle 1 hour after the job is completed, but you should not wash the vehicle for up to 4 days after the windscreen is replaced.

What is the process for a windscreen replacement?

To replace the windscreen, the technician will cut the broken windscreen out of the vehicle, then clean the aperture and apply the glue for the new windscreen. They will then fit the new windscreen. Once fitted the vehicle will need to sit for 1 hour.

Does it affect your No Claims Discount if you choose to go through insurance?

Windscreen claims are unique in that they do not affect any sort of No Claims Discount for your insurance; however, insurance companies may include the claim in any calculations for your future premiums.

Do I have to wait with my vehicle?

No, you do not need to wait with your vehicle, however, we do require the keys to access and work on your vehicles.

When and why does my windscreen need to be calibrated?

When you have an ADAS Camera in your windscreen, you will need to have your vehicle’s camera calibrated. Calibration is required to ensure your vehicle’s safety systems are functioning correctly.

Can I supply my own glass?

Yes, you can supply your own glass and we can organise fitment, but we would not take responsibility for the glass or the quality of the glass. We do NOT recommend using purchasing second-hand glass, as it is very often faulty.

Windscreen Care Tips

Windscreen chips can spread and lead to costly cracks, we recommend getting chips repaired as soon as they are detected.
When it’s cold it may seem quicker to use boiling water to clear frost from your windscreen. Avoid this at all costs as this could damage your windscreen and cause it to crack.
Ensure your washer liquid is topped up & your wipers* clean, this will help keep your windscreen clear of debris.
Keeping your wipers* clear will also help to prevent scratches and damage to the windscreen.

*Wipers can be added to any booking for an additional cost of £20+VAT per wiper.
